
The Digital Action Lab (DAL) is a global programme designed to support civil society organisations to develop, test, and scale digital solutions that strengthen civic space, democracy, and citizen engagement. The initiative provides funding, technical support, and learning opportunities to help organisations use digital tools for social impact.
Selected organisations receive a comprehensive support package including:
Grants between $10,000 and $20,000 for digital projects
Technical and strategic support
Mentorship and coaching
Peer learning and collaboration opportunities
Access to global CIVICUS networks
Training on digital advocacy and safe use of technology
The programme runs for approximately nine months, guiding organisations from idea development to project implementation.
Applicants must:
Be a civil society organisation, network, or movement
Be based in OECD DAC ODA-eligible countries (Global South)
Work on democracy, civic space, or advocacy issues
Have some experience using digital tools
Be able to manage grant funding and dedicate staff time
Be able to work in English
Priority is given to:
Youth-led organisations
Women-led groups
Grassroots initiatives
LGBTQI+ organisations
Indigenous communities
Groups operating in restricted civic environments
The cohort-based programme includes:
