
The ESCWA Fellowship Programme for Young Arab Professionals 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded United Nations fellowship designed to empower early- and mid-career professionals from the Arab region.
Organizer: United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA)
Mission: Cultivate a new generation of young professionals equipped with analytical and policymaking skills to address complex regional challenges and advance sustainable development.
ESCWA invites applications from candidates with expertise or interest in:
Macroeconomic policy
Trade policy and regional economic integration
Transport economics and infrastructure development
Economic modeling
Economic and environmental statistics
Social policy and inclusive development
Public administration and governance
Natural resource management and climate policy
Data analysis
Other related fields aligned with ESCWA's strategic priorities
Selected fellows will work under ESCWA experts and:
✅ Develop a work programme aligned with ESCWA priorities
✅ Collect, analyze, and interpret economic and social data
✅ Support research and analytical studies
✅ Contribute to technical reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products
✅ Participate in workshops, expert meetings, and seminars
✅ Assist in technical cooperation activities
✅ Produce a substantive analytical output (research paper or policy brief)

Advanced university degree (Master's or PhD) in:

Economic/development policy, data analysis, public sector governance, or ESCWA priority areas
Must be a national of an ESCWA member State
Must be 35 years old or younger
Preference given to candidates from least developed countries:
