The ESCWA Fellowship Programme for Young Arab Professionals 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded United Nations fellowship designed to empower early- and mid-career professionals from the Arab region.

Roles and Responsibilities

Selected fellows will work under ESCWA experts and:

✅ Develop a work programme aligned with ESCWA priorities
✅ Collect, analyze, and interpret economic and social data
✅ Support research and analytical studies
✅ Contribute to technical reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products
✅ Participate in workshops, expert meetings, and seminars
✅ Assist in technical cooperation activities
✅ Produce a substantive analytical output (research paper or policy brief)

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• Advanced university degree (Master's or PhD) in:

  • Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Statistics, Governance, Sustainable Development, or related fields

Experience

• Demonstrated research or professional experience in:

  • Economic/development policy, data analysis, public sector governance, or ESCWA priority areas

Nationality & Age

• Must be a national of an ESCWA member State

• Must be 35 years old or younger

• Preference given to candidates from least developed countries:

Language

• Fluency in English (required)

• Knowledge of Arabic (desirable)
