Climate Change Reporting: Investigating the impacts of climate change, adaptation, mitigation, and policy in African contexts.
Disinformation: Exposing and analyzing climate-related disinformation campaigns, their sources, and their impact on public discourse and policy.
Eligibility:
Who: Journalists, editors, producers, and media organizations based in Africa.
Format: Individual journalists or teams from newsrooms, freelance collectives, or independent media outlets.
Language: Projects can be in any local African language, English, French, Portuguese, or Arabic. (English summaries are required for application).
Grant Details:
Funding Amount: Up to USD $5,000 per project.
Duration: Projects should be completed within 3–6 months.
Use of Funds: Can cover reporting costs, travel, data journalism tools, translation, editing, and publication fees. It generally does not cover full salaries or overheads.
