Applications are now open for the Mandela Rhodes Foundation (MRF) 2027 Postgraduate Scholarship, a prestigious programme that supports young African leaders with strong academic records, leadership potential, and a commitment to creating positive change in their communities. The scholarship is available to African applicants aged 19 to 29 who have achieved strong academic results (at least 70% or an upper second-class average) and can demonstrate leadership experience either at university or within their communities. It funds postgraduate studies in any field at recognized universities in South Africa, covering one-year Honours programmes or two-year Master’s degrees. In addition to financial support, the programme offers a leadership development programme that helps scholars grow personally and professionally while connecting them with a network of emerging African leaders. Successful scholars receive full financial support, including tuition, registration, study materials, research costs, medical aid, accommodation, meals, a personal allowance, and economy-class travel between their home country and South Africa.
