The AfOx Visiting Fellowship Programme is an initiative of the Africa Oxford Initiative at the University of Oxford designed to strengthen academic collaboration between African researchers and Oxford scholars.
The fellowship provides African researchers the opportunity to focus on a research project while building long-term partnerships with experts across the University of Oxford’s departments and colleges.
Selected fellows will be affiliated with Oxford for 12 months, including 10 months of virtual engagement and a two-month in-person residency at Oxford during Trinity Term (April–June).
During the fellowship, participants collaborate with an Oxford-based researcher and join an academic department and college within the university. Fellows gain access to Oxford’s extensive research resources, academic networks, and global policy engagement platforms.
The program has helped African scholars develop long-term research collaborations, publish joint academic work, secure major research grants, and strengthen engagement with policymakers across Africa.
